Grace, at the Landmark theater in Atlanta, was the guest of honor for the screening of Redemption, my film about the No Kill revolution in America. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Cape May County and Montclair, NJ, are members of the 90% Club. Camden County recently joined it, too. To do so, it had to defy PETA which pushed for the round up and killing of community cats. Grace, who survived being put in the gas chamber and was the namesake behind the passage of a law which banned gas killing of animals in Georgia pounds, recently died after a long battle with cancer. More and more people are taking on dogs with behavior problems, “the dog with the story, the dog that needs them most.” And the No Kill Advocacy Center releases a powerful new video to tackle the core excuse used to kill animals in U.S. pounds.
In case you missed it:
- Montclair, NJ, reported a 98% placement rate for dogs, 97% for cats, and 100% for other animals.
- Cape May County, NJ, reported a 96% placement rate for dogs, 90% for cats, and 100% for other animals.
- And, for the first time in its history, Camden County, NJ, joined the 90% Club with a placement rate of 92% for dogs, 90% for cats, and 100% for other animals. To do so, freeholders had to defy PETA which pushed for the round up and killing of community cats.
- Grace, who survived being put in the gas chamber, was the namesake behind the passage of Grace’s Law which finally banned gas killing of animals in Georgia pounds. She just died after a long battle with cancer.
- More and more people are taking on dogs with behavior problems, “the dog with the story, the dog that needs them most.” There are challenges to be sure, but “as early as day one, owners already feel so responsible — or love the dog so much, despite challenges — that they do what it takes to make their pets the best dogs they can be.”
And finally, the No Kill Advocacy Center released a powerful new video to tackle the core excuse used to kill animals in U.S. pounds. Overcoming this excuse is ground zero in the fight for a No Kill nation.
